I was born in St. Petersburg and studied acting at the Theatre Academy, which gave me a profound understanding of theatre psychology and dramaturgy. In 2014, I started exploring theatre photography, aiming to capture not just the external image, but the internal process. I’m interested in how actors experience their roles, and how their emotions and states are expressed.
My photos are an attempt to capture moments when actors go through internal transformations, when the role becomes a part of them. I observe how the drama unfolds, how actors emotions align with the text, creating a layered, living experience. For me, it’s about conveying not only the external action but also the subtle psycho-emotional processes happening behind the scenes and during rehearsals, when the play has not yet taken its final shape.
